Hutchinson, Kansas (June 5, 2012) - The Kansas High School Rodeo Association (KHSRA) State Finals will
take place June 7 thru June 9, 2012 at the Expo Center Arena on the Kansas
State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson, Kansas. Nearly 150 contestants from
across Kansas, along with a few from Missouri, Oklahoma, and Colorado, will
compete in twelve rodeo events to secure State Championships and the
opportunity to represent Kansas at the National High School Rodeo Finals held
in July of 2012 in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Performances will take place on
Thursday and Friday at 12:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The Championship on
Saturday will start with the finals of the Boys and Girls Cutting at 9:00 a.m.
and the Rodeo at 7:00 p.m. Admission is $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for
children 18 & under. Tickets are available at the door. The Kansas High School Rodeo Association is comprised
of high school age students competing in twelve major rodeo events. KHSRA
athletes are involved in a skill building event that is dedicated to presenting
a positive image for rodeo, preserving our western heritage, and having the
highest regard for the care and well being of livestock. Members also vie
for $40,000 in saddles, buckles and awards. Over $12,000 in educational
scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors during the State Finals
Rodeo. The Kansas High School Rodeo has tremendously talented athletes
