HUTCHINSON, Kansas (July 30, 2012) - The Kansas Association for Floodplain Management (KAFM) will hold their 9th Annual Floodplain Managers Conference in Hutchinson on September 5th and 6th, 2012 at the Ramada Hotel and Conference Center located at 1400 N. The purpose
of the association is to promote the common interest in flood damage abatement,
to enhance cooperation and to exchange information among the various related
private organizations, individuals, local, state and federal agencies to encourage
appropriate and effective approaches to managing the state’s floodplains, and
to educate the public about floodplain management.
KAFM recently
became the 32nd Chapter of the Association of State Floodplain
Managers (ASFPM), a national organization of professionals involved in
floodplain management, flood hazard mitigation, flood preparedness, and the
National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).
KAFM is honored to welcome Mr. Chad Berginnis, CFM, Executive Director
of ASFPM as our keynote speaker at this year’s conference.
