Historic Fox Theatre



A visit to the Fox Theatre in downtown Hutchinson is a trip back in time. Prepare to savor the glory days of entertainment the moment you enter this restored 1931 art deco theatre. 

Restored to its original 1931 grandeur, the Fox greets you with one of the few surviving original neon marquees in the country. The theatre is designated as the State Movie Palace of Kansas and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The annual season for the theatre includes concerts, stage shows in its season events,
in addition to serving as the home for local groups including the Hutchinson Symphony, Theatre Guild, Salt Minors, Sweet Adelines and Artis Tree.  Some of the events scheduled include Nelson Illusions, The Good Lovelies and The Lettermen. 

The theatre seats 1,221 and is disabled accessible. Tours are available on request and the facility can be rented for business, birthdays, reunions and other gatherings.

Hutchinson Art Center

  An appreciation for the arts can be honed at the  
  Hutchinson Art Center in downtown Hutchinson. While
  visitors can enjoy viewing works of artists from around
  the globe, the purpose of the nonprofit museum is close
  to home. The fine art museum and commercial gallery
  strive to promote artist and art education in Kansas.
  There is always something new to see with exhibits
  changing every five to six weeks.

  Since 1949 the Hutchinson Art Center has amassed a
  private collection of impressive artwork from many eras.
  Visitors can purchase one-of-a-kind pieces from artists
  whose work is displayed for sale.

The Flag Theatre

For just a nickel, patrons could enjoy big screen movie features at this downtown fixture built in 1936.

Today, The Flag Theatre is Kansas' only festival stage complex, a dynamic, flexible and acoustically-superior space seating 307. Seating for the disabled is available.

In addition to serving as a small convention, educational, and meeting facility for central Kansas, The Flag is home to the Family/Community Theatre. Eight main stage shows are presented each year, featuring a variety of educational, comedic, dramatic, and musical presentations.

Old Mill Theater

Formerly a flour mill, the Old Mill Theater in Buhler was restored as a venue for a monthly casual night out.

Live music and dinner events are scheduled for once a month on Saturday. Jake and the Journeymen is the house band and opens every show, but the main musical entertainment varies each month.

The Old Mill Theater is also available to rent for class reunions, weddings, and other functions. The theater is smoke and alcohol free.
