Sports Facilities

Hutchinson/Reno County offers outstanding sporting facilities including the Hutchinson Sports Arena and the Salt Hawk Activity Center at Hutchinson High School . Fun Valley Sports Complex and Hobart-Detter Field are immaculate ball diamonds.

Fun Valley Sports ComplexNicknamed " America 's tournament headquarters," Fun Valley has been named Softball Complex of the Year by both U.S. Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) and Softball Owners and Directors of America and hosts more national events than any other baseball/softball facility in the country. Fun Valley has seven natural turf fields spread across 35 acres. During peak season, the complex employs 200 people to take care of the teams, keep tournaments running smoothly, and maintain playing conditions at the immaculate level for which it is known.

Hobart-Detter Field

Under the same leadership as Fun Valley , Hobart-Detter is a former minor league and semi-pro baseball park that was recently extensively renovated. It is now considered Kansas ' premier natural turf field. It is the home field for Hutchinson Community College and Hutchinson High School and the site of several baseball tournaments each summer.

Hutchinson Sports Arena
The Hutchinson Sports Arena is home of the Hutchinson Community College Blue Dragons and the National Junior College Athletic Association ( NJCAA ) Men's Basketball Tournament which first came to Hutchinson in 1949. Every March, 16 of the country's top junior college teams gather at the Sports Arena to determine the NJCAA national championship.

The facility is used throughout the year for other sporting events, including wrestling and volleyball and as a lecture hall for community events. It seats approximately 7,000 people

Hutchinson High School


This recently built, multi-use facility provides functional space for a wide variety of events and is the home court for the Hutchinson High School Salt Hawks. It seats approximately 2,800 people.

Golf

Hutchinson Golf CoursesFive golf courses are available in the area - three public courses (Carey Park, The Links at Pretty Prairie and Paradise Pastures) and two private courses (The Highlands and Prairie Dunes). For course details, link here.

Swimming

Facilities include the Buhler Swimming Pool, Turon Swimming Pool, Salt City Splash Aquatic Center and two year-round indoor pools at the Hutchinson Family YMCA .

Tennis

Courts are available at Elmdale Park (East Avenue E & Plum); Fairgrounds Park (23rd & Plum); Rice Park , (Swarens & Dover); Shadduck Park (West 2nd & Van Buren); Hutchinson Community College and Hutchinson High School .
