The highlight of your visit to Hutchinson on either Friday, December 7th or Saturday, December 8th , will be the holiday tradition “Prairie Nutcracker.” This special feature is the perfect heart-warming American celebration set in 1869 Kansas . Held in the beautifully restored 1930's art deco Fox Theatre, this production is an amazing tribute to the prairie spirit that will delight everyone. Showtime is 7:30 pm.

Your “Very Prairie Christmas” evening dining will be at locally-owned DannyBoys Smokehouse . They take pride in serving you tongue-tingling, mouth watering, great BBQ! The smoked meat is so tasty it doesn't require sauce, but should you need sauce, choose from over 25 different varieties!

The Blue Duck Bistro is fine dining at its best and that's where you will enjoy a scrumptious dessert after the show. Choices include Crème Brulee, apple tart, and even homemade ice cream.

After a full evening of food and entertainment make your way to your overnight accommodations at the Hampton Inn . There is a heated pool and hot tub if you aren't quite ready to retire for the evening. When you awake from a night of sweet dreams your “on the house” breakfast will be waiting for you.

On Saturday, December 8 th , experience Hutchinson 's traditional holiday festivities. There will be carriage rides and Santa will be in his house to welcome the little ones and to hear their Christmas wishes. Hutchinson 's Antique District stores will be hosting their annual open houses to welcome holiday visitors downtown. There will also be carolers to add to the holiday atmosphere.

Your “Very Prairie Christmas” dinner will be at the Anchor Inn where you may order from the menu of authentic Mexican cuisine or partake of their large Mexican buffet. This friendly third generation, locally-owned restaurant was established in the 1970's and has been a local favorite ever since.

Bogey's is the perfect place for an after show snack; maybe a hot chocolate, cheese fries, or you may want to choose a shake from their more than 100 flavors!

After your snack, the place to lay your head for sweet dreams of a Very Prairie Christmas is the Hampton Inn. And if you're not quite ready to retire yet --- relax in the hot tub or enjoy a swim in the indoor pool. “On the house” breakfast will be waiting for you when you wake in the morning with hot menu including eggs, sausage, waffles, biscuits and gravy.
