THIRD ANNUAL FUNDRAISING GALA “WHOSE WINE IS IT ANYWAY?” TO BE HELD SEPTEMBER 6, 2018

Hutchinson, Kan. – Stage 9’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce its annual fundraiser “Whose Wine Is It Anyway?” on Thursday, September 6, 2018.  The event begins at 6:45 p.m. and ends at 9:30 p.m.  Stage 9 supporters Matt and Amy Bretz continue their tradition of hosting this annual fundraising event in their home. Additional hosts for this entertaining evening are Sally Russell, Alice Jane Hayes, Milt and Sandy Siegfried, Jackson and Erin Swearer, Glen and Christi Grunwald, Linda and Bill Frazier, Bob and Ruthie Barker and other members of the Niners, Stage 9’s auxiliary.

Stage 9 challenges the true oenophile to an ultimate test of the taste buds in this blind wine tasting event. Four enticing, masked wines will be available for unlimited sampling. Towards the end of the evening the mystery wines will be auctioned and guests will have the opportunity to bid on their favorites. A delectable selection of tapas paired with each individual wine is included in the event. Entertainment for the evening will be provided by pianist Shawna Essmiller.

At 8:30 pm, a program featuring selections from Broadway musicals will be performed accompanied by Essmiller.  Immediately concluding that program, the remaining wine from the event will be auctioned off prior to the price of each wine selection being revealed.  Finally, the evening will conclude with the kick off of Stage 9’s “Make Us the Best Show in Town” Endowment Building campaign with a paddle raise for the event.  The kick-off begins a year-long campaign for Stage 9 to raise $500,000 to support a permanent endowed position of a full time staff person at Stage 9. 

Tickets for the event are $75.00 per person or $125.00 for two tickets and must be purchased in advance. There will be limited tickets sold at the door for $100.00. Tickets can be purchased at stage9hutch.com. Hosts of the event will sell tickets. Apron Strings, Stage 9’s official ticket outlet will also sell tickets at 1 S. Main in downtown Hutchinson.  Tickets will be available for purchase up until 48 hours prior to the beginning of the event.
