Cotton Candy Sunset
2000 N. Poplar St.
• Hutchinson, KS 67502
United States
The ‘Cotton Candy Sunset’ mural was completed by local Hutchinson artist Brady Scott in summer 2022. The mural was commissioned by Visit Hutch, with a funding partnership from KS Creative Arts Industries Commission which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. The mural is located on the West facing side of the Visitor Information Center on the KS State Fairgrounds.
On one side of this mural the Kansas State Fair skyline is highlighted by a beautiful sunset turning into a night sky. The south side of the mural pays tribute to the importance of agriculture in Reno County. The bison represents the official Kansas state animal, and the entire scene invokes feelings of a nighttime prairie dreamscape.
