The inaugural Sunflower Classic Dorper Sheep Show and Sale will be at the Kansas State Fairgrounds on Saturday, May 18th.  This show will bring approximately 150 head of sheep and 200 attendees from eight states to Hutchinson for the weekend.

In addition to the show, all sheep will be available for sale on Saturday, May 18th.  The sale will begin at 11:00 am and will be live streamed on DV Auctions.  The sheep that will be in Hutchinson will be structurally sound, registered, and commercial animals.

The dorper is a domesticated breed originating from South Africa and has been in the United States for close to 25 years. This breed can thrive in drier climates and is one of the fastest growing sheep breeds in the country.

The organizers are looking for volunteers to help show sheep during the sale.  Anyone that is interested please contact Holly Leiker at Visit Hutch at 620-662-3391.
