'Sleeping Giant' - Theatre Production

Come out and enjoy Sleeping Giant put on by the Hutchinson Community Fine Arts Students on October 16-18, 2026.  Showtimes are 7:00 pm on Friday and Saturday, and 2:00 pm on Sunday, at the Stringer Fine Arts Center. (Doors open at 6:30 pm on Friday and Saturday and 1:30 pm on Sunday.)  

Sleeping Giant is a darkly comedic play by Steve Yockey that explores how a small lakeside community reacts to the sudden awakening of an ancient tentacled monster.  Triggered by an ill-advised fireworks display, the bizarre and unsettling events satirize human existential anxiety, authoritarianism, and our desperate need for belief.
