Acrylic Painting Workshop by Virgil Penner

The Hutchinson Art Center is hosting an Acrylic Painting Workshop by Virgil Penner on October 11, 2025, from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm.  Learn acrylic painting techniques and experiment with color, perspective, and creative composition with renowned painter Virgil Penner.

Students will learn about basic acrylic  techniques while experimenting with color, perspective, and creative composition.  Students will also learn how to take creative liberties with their visual references by taking away elements and adding others at their choosing.

All materials will be provided by the Hutchinson Art Center, however students are encouraged to bring a photograph from home to draw inspiration from for their sketches and paintings during the class.

Lunch will not be provided on site, however there are many fantastic local lunch options in Downtown Hutchinson!  Free free to ask us for recommendations and/or directions to eateries in town.

Cost: $40 for Members - $50 for Non-Members
