NJCAA DI Volleyball Championship Wraps Up Another Successful Year

Wednesday, December 04, 2019

Visit Hutch would like to extend an enormous THANK YOU to the entire Hutchinson and Reno County communities for your support of the NJCAA DI Volleyball Championship for the past three years!  From the sponsors, to the volunteers, to the local schools that allowed their students to volunteer and welcomed teams into their classrooms, and to the fans that joined us at the Sports Arena…it is because of you all that the Championship was a success!

When the vote to renovate the Hutchinson Sports Arena was passed in 2015 Visit Hutch immediately went to work to recruit the NJCAA Volleyball Championship to Hutchinson.  The bid to host was submitted before the ground was even broken on the Sports Arena renovation project and a few months later the NJCAA Board of Directors awarded Hutchinson the 2017-2019 Championships.

Each year we have had the privilege of showcasing Hutchinson to 16 volleyball teams and we could not have done it without your support!  This community has once again shown the NJCAA how much we love sports and how much we value our relationship with their organization.  It has not gone unnoticed by the teams or the NJCAA officials that have been to the Championship.

In total for the past three Championships the Hutchinson Sports Arena has seen over 165 hours of volleyball competition that was made possible by the efforts of over 500 volunteers, 100 sponsors and 15 area middle and high schools.

Serving as the Championship Host has been an incredible experience for our team, and while we are sad to see the Volleyball Championship move to West Plains, MO in 2020, we are anxiously awaiting it’s return and the opportunity to host again in 2021!
