2025 NJCAA DI Men's Basketball Championship Schedule Change
Thursday, May 09, 2024
Charlotte, NC – The NJCAA has announced a schedule change for the upcoming 2025 NJCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship, presented by Zurich Insurance. The tournament will be held inside the historic Hutchinson Sports Arena in Hutchinson, KS, for the 77th consecutive year.
For 2025, the NJCAA Division I Men's Basketball Committee has approved a schedule change with the tournament beginning on Saturday, March 22, which will allow for four total games to be played each day until the semifinals instead of six games on each of the first two days. Thursday, March 27 will serve as a day of rest for the final four teams before the semifinals and national championship game are played on Friday, March 28 and Saturday, March 29, respectively. During the day of rest, Thursday, March 27, there will also be a championship luncheon for the final four teams with tickets available for the public. The tournament format will remain the same.
The tournament will again be on ESPN platforms as the 2025 NJCAA DI Men's Basketball Championship tournament will air on ESPN+ with the national championship game airing on ESPNU for the third consecutive year.
“The Division I Men’s Basketball Committee wanted to prioritize the schedules of participating teams in addition to the value for fans attending the tournament,” stated Brian Luckett, NJCAA Senior Vice President for External Affairs. “By adding the additional weekend day, the late evening time slot on the first two days will be removed allowing for teams to have better tournament rest and preparation while also providing fans better opportunities to enjoy the high level of competition the tournament provides.”
The deadline for all-session ticket renewals is May 31. Public all-session ticket sales will be announced at a later date.
