Reno County Museum's Photo

Peer through the bars of an unforgiving, iron, pioneer jail! Be amazed that 8 people really lived in a tiny two-room claim house! Imagine what the ride felt like on the 1929 Indian Ace motorcycle! Experience all this and more at the Reno County Museum, just one block from Hutchinson’s Main Street. Mysteries and fascination abound in the stories behind the artifacts on display in the museum’s five rotating exhibit galleries.

The Oodleplex  Children's area is the Reno County Museum's interactive, historical, and fun children's exhibit. They are updating the area with new and exciting ways to play and learn about local history.  A BNSF train, Carey Salt Co. cart, and a Gleaner combine cab are some newly finished play stations.  In the combine, children can sit in the driver's seat and drive!  This is an excellent opportunity to introduce children to agriculture.  The children's area is open during normal business hours.  The Oodleplex is recommended for children ages 2-12 and there is a $1 per child charge.

The museum has exciting, educational programs and guided tours for groups of all types when scheduled in advance.
