Basic Outdoor Skills Series (B.O.S.S.) classes, at Dillon Nature Center to learn the basic outdoor skills needed when you come face-to-face with nature. Learn how to plan for camping and hiking adventures. Learn what to take with you, some options to consider and how to prepare for an outdoor trip.
- This class is for ages 9-12 and meets on the 4th Saturday of each month from 10a-noon.
Upcoming B.O.S.S. Classes Include:
- Navigation
- March 27 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
- Learn all about navigation. Learn to read maps, use a compass and GPS. We will spend some time outside practicing our new skills so dress accordingly.
- Shelters & Safety
- April 24 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
- Learn all about shelters. Learn how to put up various tents, how to make different shelters and what you can do in an emergency. We will spend most of our time outside so dress accordingly.
