Description
It’s “Hands working together,” once again celebrating Emancipation Day starting Friday August 1st through Sunday August 3rd with many activities. A schedule of event location and times can be found on our Facebook page. Friday kicks off the weekend with a family fun night event followed by a 3-Point Shoot-out and Jazz in the park. We’ll begin Saturday with a memorable parade, enjoy a picnic and end the day with a dance. Sunday events bring a close to our celebration with a gospel festival and an ice cream social.
Friday, Aug. 1:
- 5:00 pm: Family Fun Night - HutchCC Central Park, 1500 N. Plum
- 6:00 pm: 3-Point Shoot-Out - YMCA, 716 E. 13th
- 8:00 pm: Jazz In The Park - HutchCC Central Park, 1500 N. Plum
Saturday, Aug. 2:
- 10:00 am: Emancipation Parade - North on Main Street, Ave. B to 12th Ave.
- Noon: Awards/Parade Marshall Address - Stringer Fine Arts Center, 600 E. 11th Ave.
- 12:30 pm: Free community Picnic - Gallery Theater & Lawn, 600 E. 11th Ave.
- 9:00 pm: Emancipation Dance - Knights of Columbus, 1200 W. 15th Ave.
Sunday, Aug. 3:
- 3:00 pm: Stringer Fine Arts Center, 600 E. 11th Ave, Ice Cream Social to follow in the Gallery Theater
